Hi, I am
Sushant Bhattarai A PhD Student A Research Assistant

I’m a PhD student and Graduate Research Assistant in the Scalable Computer Architecture & Emerging Technologies Laboratory (SCALE) at Kent State University’s Department of Computer Science. I joined the lab in August 2024 and work under Dr. Gokarna Sharma, contributing to innovative research in parallel and distributed computing. Our work spans novel synchronization techniques including transactional memory for multicore architectures, online algorithms within a learning-augmented framework, and solving coordination challenges such as leader election in distributed systems.

Building on my background in machine learning and algorithm design, from projects like an "English sign gesture recognition system", I bring my research experience to the lab. Previously, I taught computer science courses as an Assistant Lecturer at Himalaya College of Engineering, Tribhuvan University, Nepal. At SCALE Lab, I am excited to be part of a dynamic team that not only advances scalable computer architecture but also actively engages with the community and with impactful publications.
